From the Chief Justice of the Revolution of the Islamic Republic
To all Prosecuting Attorneys of the Revolution of the Islamic Republic in
the provinces and counties
In referring to the announcement and the request made by the Islamic
Guards, there are times when our Pasdar brothers are injured, either as a
result of domestic skirmishes or at the front, and are transferred, with
an urgent need for blood transfusion, to the hospitals, where, due to a
lack and the difficulties in obtaining blood, the situation can lead to
the death of the injured party. In order to solve this problem
secret orders should be issued so that medical personnel who can be
trusted will be able to transfer the blood of those who are sentenced to
be executed and whose sentences are to be carried out immediately, to
special containers, which will in turn be delivered to the nearest
infirmary or blood bank so that it may be used as soon as it is needed for
our brothers, the Islamic Guards.
It must be noted that in order to avoid any speculation about this
practice being against Islamic laws, we have already obtained a fatwa from
Imam Khomeini, the leader and the founder of the Islamic Republic,
proclaiming that such a practice would not be against the law.
